DCL Weightlifting is an official USAW Affiliated Club. While some of our athletes started their journey in CrossFit, others went full speed ahead into weightlifting. We work with athletes of all ages and ability levels.

We have taken athletes to The American Open and Youth Nationals. This year one of our teen athletes placed 3rd in her weight class at the American Open Series. 

If you’re ready to take your training to the next level, talk to us about how we can personalize a plan to help make that happen. Those wishing to try out weightlifting for the first time are encouraged to attend our weekly weightlifting class every Friday at 6pm.

How is weightlifting different than CrossFit?

Good question- CrossFit includes an array of movements, including clean, deadlifts, presses and squats, to name a few. Olympic lifting focuses in on the clean and jerk and the snatch.

Do I need to be a heavy lifter to do weightlifting?

No! Our programming considers that all our athletes are not necessarily seasoned lifters. At the beginning of your training you will learn the fundamentals of the movements, then find your ability levels with the different lifts. Workouts are often structured based on the percentages of your one rep max (the maximum amount of weight you can safely lift one time). Your percentage will differ from others, but our methodology guarantees you will be challenged.
